Student meeting, Feb 3, 2024

Polish education is sick to the bone. Students are fed up and want change.

On Feb 3, 2024, during a 6-hour meeting, a group of students representing various organizations or social media outlets met to discuss a possibility of uniting forces for the school strike on Mar 21, 2024.

The root of all revolutions is a feeling of deep dissatisfaction or resentment. Coercive school brews such feelings in nearly all students.

We concluded that the core feeling of resentment and a factor that unites all forces of change should be expressed in a simple slogan. Tentatively, we chose "Koniec Przymusu Szkolnego".

This slogan should be an umbrella term that all participants of the rebellion can use to bring up their own ideas for change.

This slogan will allow of various reform plans to come together as a strong voice of protest. Minor reform details cannot stand on the way to change. Individual participants propose solutions such as Lex Libertas with roots in student strike 2022, PAN promoted by Sussen, Educational Postulates by Portal Oswiaty, and even programs of past strike contributors such as Wolni Uczniowie, Protest Uczniowski czy Zjednoczony Zwiazek Uczniowski.

There is no agreement on strike leadership. Kacper Borys declared readiness when goals of the strike are written down in an agreement with goals of Sussen.

For the media face of the strike, Kacper Borys was proposed unanimously.

J. Røve was accepted for diplomatic efforts of reaching out to organization that question the goals of the strike (Front Uczniowski, Akcja Uczniowska, Szkolna Rewolucja, etc.).

Younger participants agreed to take the roles of writing to parliamentarians and influencers. Mateusz Rudnicki has already arranged face-to-face with Marcin Jozefaciuk, an open-minded teacher and a new member of parliament. The meeting took place on Feb 6, 2024.
